Jadaveon Clowney could become the first defensive player selected with the number one overall pick sense the Texans selected Mario Williams with the top pick in 2006. It doesn't stop there as there could be as many as18 more defensive players selected on day one. Here are 10 players on the defensive side of the ball that could have an immediate there new franchise.

Defenders look to take over first round

1. Jadaveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina - Clowney has a violent playing style similar to JJ Watt. He can be disruptive getting after the QB and gets his hands up to bat down balls. An absolute physical freak and match up nightmare thats demands a tight end or extra back to help contain him.

2. Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo - There are a lot of similarities to Von Miller. A guy who can be disruptive in the backfield, get after the QB and drop into coverage. He is a swiss army knife at the OLB position. Look for Mack's name on the pro bowl roster.

3. Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh - He's a bit undersized for the position but there wasn't a more disruptive  player in 2013. He is the perfect fit as a 3-techniquein a cover-2 and the best pass rushing interior lineman in college football. He draws similar comparison toJohn Randall, a stallworth who creates miss matches all over the defensive line.

4. Ryan Shazier, OLB, Ohio St. -  Shazier is one of the more tenacious and instinctive linebackers in recent drafts. IMO he grades out similar to Lavonte David but, adds the dimension of being able to rush the passer. One of the more undervalued players in this draft do to position, I fully expect Shazier to make a big splash in his first season.

5. Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA - His stock has taken a hit due to his combine performance. To be honest he performed exactly how I thought he would and thought he ultimately performed pretty well. I think his production suffered a tad bit do to the loss of Datone Jones, who helped free up open space for Barr. I think he's in a similar situation as Justin Houston a few years ago and If Barr ends up on the right team, in the right situation, look for him to be a impact player.

6. Lamarcus Joyner, S, Florida St. - Joyner in my opinion may be the most under rated DB coming into the draft. He has the ability to cover slot receivers, come down and blitz the passer or roam center field as a deep safety. Don't let his size full you, he's one of the biggest play makers in college football, and has a game similar to Tyrann Matheu or to a less extent, Earl Thomas.

7. Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn - Ford has elite pass rush potential and is a high motor guy that plays with a violent style. There may be some questions about his ability to set the edge as a run defender which is why some may see him as a better fit in a 3-4 scheme, as a OLB. Other than Aaron donald, no one has done more to improve his stock, elevating his status with a great BCS title game and  senior bowl week.

8. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan St. - Dennard is a strong, physical CB that can come up and play press man coverage. He has good speed along with excellent route recognition and  ability to read receivers eyes and make plays on the ball. Rarely was Dennard ever beat for the big play.

9. Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville - Calvin is a big physical safety that puts the fear in receivers coming over the middle. He's phenominal against the run and can man center field, but  he's going to make his money  play in the box matched  up against the leagues elite Tight Ends. I would compare his game to a younger Donte Witner.

10. Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU - Like Anthony Barr I believe his production suffered a bit do to the loss of Ziggy Ansah and was asked to do to much in his final season. Van Noy is a gifted player who can rush the passer and drop back into coverage. He has a nack for the big play and could end up being one of the golden nuggets of the draft. Expect his name to be called late on day one or early on day two.

Honorable Mentions: Jimmie Ward, S, NIU , Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma St. , Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota , CJ Mosley, ILB, Alabama , Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
